How to set parental controls on an android device

Setting parental controls on an Android smartphone can help you manage your child’s device usage and protect them from inappropriate content. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Open the “Settings” app on your child’s Android smartphone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on “Digital Wellbeing & parental controls.”
  3. Tap on “Set up parental controls.”
  4. Enter your device’s PIN or password to confirm that you are the device’s owner.
  5. Tap on “Add a child.”
  6. Enter your child’s name and date of birth.
  7. Tap on “Next.”
  8. Choose the content you want to block on your child’s device. You can block specific apps, websites, and games or limit their time using their device.
  9. Tap on “Done.”

You can also set up a separate profile for your child on the device, allowing them to have apps and settings that are separate from your own. To do this, go to “Settings” > “Users & accounts” > “Add user or profile” > “Add a child.”

It’s important to regularly check and update the parental controls on your child’s device to ensure that they are still appropriate for their age and interests. You should also have open and honest conversations with your child about their device usage and the importance of being safe online.
