Keep your family safe with a panic button on their phone – response24

Keep your family safe with a panic button on their phone – response24

When Marlize Holtzhausen’s pregnant sister was attacked in her home, in front of her two-year-old son, then kidnapped, beaten, raped and left for dead – the whole family was severely traumatised. She struggled to get help and the physical damage caused her to go into labour while she was stranded far from home. Time was of the essence and if she did not get help quickly, both she and her baby could lose their lives. Fortunately, she was rescued and both lives were saved, but the terrible trauma had long-lasting effects.

Normally a tragic incident like this would turn most people bitter and negative. Not for Marlize. She used this horrible incident as inspiration to develop an app that can speak for victims when they cannot speak for themselves. The Response24 app gives you a panic button on your phone that will call for fast medical, security or family assistance whenever you need it. This has gone on to gain worldwide attention, winning multiple awards and truly saving lives. During times of pandemic, unrest and domestic violence – thousands of subscribers around the world have been rescued!

In our first episode of “Double Click” (where we speak to experts who also work to keep children safe) – we had a lovely discussion with Marlize. This video should be watched by all parents! Please watch until the end when we tell you about an exciting giveaway for our Click Safe community members.

When the panic button is pressed, the app will immediately notify emergency responders of your geographic location, so that they can find you within the shortest possible time.

This award-winning app is now available globally and can be used in almost every country in the world.

Another very helpful feature is the ability to notify emergency services if someone else is in trouble. For example: if your child is expected to be home at a certain time and you are concerned that they might be in danger, you can activate an alarm on their behalf.

There is also an app specifically for children called Rapido InPowered. This is a very user-friendly app that children can use when they need help. The app looks like a game on the phone so that it is not obvious when the child is calling for help.

Have a panic button on your phone that will speak for you when you are not able to speak for yourself.

If you have not done so yet, please take a look at the video where Marlize shares her inspiring journey. We would also appreciate it if you could share, comment and subscribe so that more people can hear about this service.
